2016 Rocket Day

On a beautiful May 27th day at the Harper Creek High School grounds our club held its annual Rocket Day Project for all the Harper Creek 6th grade students. Over 200 rockets that were built by the students were launched and over 95% of the rockets were retrieved so they can be flown again. Special thanks to club member Rocketman Dick Wagner for again chairing the project and to new club member and Middle School teacher Rich Peternel for assisting. Our club would also like to recognize J T Hobby for offering a substantial discount to our club for the purchase of the rocket kits plus the Sherwin Williams paint store in Harper Village for also discounting the spray paint used to embellish the rockets. Our club also appreciates the support we obtained from the student’s parents, the 6th grade teachers plus the Harper Creek Administration and maintenance department for providing the location for the event and having the grounds ready.
