Christmas Families

Our club has budgeted $1200 towards the purchase of Christmas gifts for four local families we have adopted this Holiday Season. Club member Dick Brown has again chaired this program and has spent plenty of time engaged with local shopping. He organized a club gift wrapping session after our general meeting on December 12th  and members exhibited their creative talent. Our program speaker for the evening, Zoe Baeck, who earlier in the evening enlightened those in attendance about all the ramifications of life insurance, even stayed afterwards assisting with the wrapping. The gifts will be delivered by club members to the families at a time when the children are not present prior to Christmas.

Pictured below are program speaker Zoe Baeck and Christmas Families Chairperson Dick Brown preparing to wrap a gift. In subsequent pictures (L-R) are Rita Wooten, Dave Berry, Al Miller and John Sims, Sr. exhibiting their gift wrapping talent.2013-12-OptimistChristmasBrownBaeck2013-12-OptimistChristmasRitaBerry2013-12-OptimistChristmasAlSims

Christmas Trees

2013-12-OptimistXmasTreesAdd

Our club is providing fresh cut Christmas Trees to the public for a donation again this year. They will be available with club member assistance at Lakeview Ford on Dickman Road week days 4 to 8 PM and weekends 10 to 5 PM. Special thanks to club member and Lakeview Ford owner, Vince Pavone, for providing our club with the trees and for club member Bernie Green for chairing this worthwhile community service fundraiser. Trees should be available up to a few days before Christmas.

Pictured below among the trees on a chilly December Sunday afternoon are club member Al Miller, dedicated Harper Creek volunteer Brad Morris, and club members Terry Eisen and Dr. Gary Gymer.
